with Newcastle West Town Football Club
The Newcastle West Town FC club is run by a group of committed volunteers. These people give up their free time, their expertise and put in many many hours upskilling and improving their coaching skills, running fundraising events, scoping and seeking funding for future development of the club, organising events for the children, sorting out insurance, arranging grass cutting, doing maintenance and countless other tasks that take a lot of time.
Parents too devote a lot of time and energy to the club’s players, making sure they are on time for training, turning up at matches, travelling to games and events, mentoring their kids at home, practising skills with them and helping out coaches with the weekly sessions.
Additional volunteers are always welcome in the club. You don’t have to be a coach, you don’t have to know how to secure government funding (although it would help) but here are just some of the activities that we always need more volunteers to help us with.
- Fundraising including Flag Days, Church Gate collection and Bag Packing
- Selling Lotto tickets
- Event coordination
- Social Media posting
- Updating the club website
- Writing news items for the club website, and for the local newspaper
- Taking and sharing high-quality photographs
- Coaching
Please talk to any of the club officials about how you can get involved and follow the Facebook page for the most up to date source of news about upcoming events.
Interesting read for all our parents on the commitment our coaches give every week
